The Stanley FatMax V20 SFMCS600D1K-GB is a cordless jigsaw built for cutting curves, profiles, and intricate shapes in wood, plastic, and metal without being tied to a power lead. It runs on Stanley's 18V V20 battery platform, supplied here with a 2.0Ah lithium-ion battery and charger, so it's ready to work straight out of the kit box and shares batteries with the rest of the V20 cordless range if you're already invested in that system.

The variable speed trigger runs from 0 to 2,500 strokes per minute, and with 3 to 4 pendulum action settings you can dial in how aggressive the cut is depending on the material — fast and aggressive for softwood, slower and more controlled for denser hardwoods, plastics, and thin metal. It'll cut up to 55mm in wood, 20mm in aluminium, and 8mm in steel depending on the blade fitted, and the adjustable shoe tilts for 45° bevel cuts when a job calls for an angled edge rather than a straight one.

It's compatible with both U-shank and T-shank blades, so you're not locked into one blade brand, and the contoured over-moulded handle keeps grip comfortable over longer cutting sessions. At around 2.4-2.6kg with the battery fitted, it's light enough to control one-handed on detailed work, and the battery pack itself has a built-in charge indicator so you always know how much runtime is left before it needs topping up.
