The Abus Magtec cylinder sits at the top of Abus's security range, using magnetic key technology instead of the standard pin-tumbler system found in many conventional cylinders. The magnet embedded in both the cylinder and key provides strong protection against illegal key copying and manipulation, including picking, drilling, and pulling attacks. The cylinder is independently rated SKG***, the highest security class awarded by the SKG testing institute, equivalent to Class 6 under DIN EN 1303.

At 120mm, this cylinder is suitable for doors requiring additional length to span the door thickness or accommodate a specific lock case. The cylinder core is made from Xerol material and includes a drilling protection plate for increased resistance against forced-entry attempts. Key duplication is controlled through a security card system, with original Abus replacement keys and cylinders produced only when the authorised card is presented.

The profile cylinder also features a modular design, allowing its length to be adjusted if it needs to be moved to another door. This provides additional flexibility for facilities that may reconfigure their access points over time.
